Subway Discriminates Against Homeschoolers

Subway is offering students a chance to participate in their contest, unless they're homeschooled.

Contest is open only to legal US residents, over the age of 18 with children in
either elementary, private or parochial schools that serve grades PreK-6. No home schools will be accepted.
Way to go, Subway. Let's see what kind of bad publicity you can get for this one. Read it for yourself here.

Update 5.28.08
Subway issued an apology today to homeschoolers. They said in the future that they would make sure the promotions were open to everyone.

I have a feeling they're going to change their RULES stat.

They better.

Tanyetta: Surprisingly, they didn't change the rules. They did offer an apology and said that in the future they would include everyone.

Seems to me like they could have included homeschooling folks but had them designate a school or location for the $500 of playground equipment (since that is a little much for most people's yards!).

Tara: I agree. They could have also offered an alternate prize for homeschoolers. How about a $100 Target gift card for school supplies? Or they could give the $5000 to their church for playground equipment.
